IAM Diploma in Asset Management

Course Structure

The IAM Diploma in Asset Management qualification comprises 12 modules.

We deliver the qualification through a structured 9-day learning pathway:

Stage 1: IAM Certificate in Asset Management (4 Days)

Modules 1 to 5:

• Module 1 – Principles of Asset Management
• Module 2 – Asset Management Policy, Strategy & Planning
• Module 3 – Managing Asset Life Cycle Decisions and Activities
• Module 4 – Assessing and Managing Asset Management Risks
• Module 5 – Financial and Business Impact

Stage 2: IAM Diploma Conversion Course (5 Days)

Modules 6 to 12:

• Module 6 – Practices of Asset Management
• Module 7 – Asset Management Information and Knowledge
• Module 8 – Sustainable Asset Care and Performance Management
• Module 9 – Managing Change in Asset Management Systems and Capabilities
• Module 10 – Contractor and Supplier Management
• Module 11 – Demand Forecasting and Capital Expenditure Planning
• Module 12 – Methods for Realising Whole Life Value from Assets

Delegates who have already completed the IAM Certificate in Asset Management, or who have equivalent knowledge of Modules 1 to 5, may join directly at Module 6 by enrolling on the IAM Diploma Conversion Course.

This programme provides both the educational content and practical application needed to prepare for the IAM Diploma examination while enabling delegates to apply advanced asset management principles within their own organisations.

Delivery

The complete IAM qualification pathway is delivered over 9 days of intensive, interactive virtual classroom training, comprising:

• 4-day IAM Certificate in Asset Management
• 5-day IAM Diploma Conversion Course

Training is delivered live online through webinars and includes practical exercises, knowledge checks and directed reading to reinforce learning and prepare delegates for the IAM Diploma examination.
